Ms. McCarthy is a native of Boston, and attended the Boston Public Schools from 1st grade through 12th grade. She then went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University. During her time at BU, Ms. McCarthy worked at Brighton High School’s GEAR UP Program as a mathematics tutor. She completed her residency in inclusion math at the McCormack Middle School in Dorchester. Ms. McCarthy is in her second year at Excel High School and currently teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, and Senior Math to the Special Education Population. She loves working with exceptional students, and is proud to be a part of the Excel High School community. In her free time, she enjoys seeing her family and friends, books, music, movies, and travel.
